Truck Center Companies opens new Omaha headquarters
Darland partnered with Omaha-based Truck Center Companies to build their new corporate headquarters and dealership, located on a 26-acre site at the corner of Interstate 80 and Highway 50. "Our investment in our Omaha facilities was long overdue," said TCC President and CEO Trey Mytty. "This new location positions us for future growth, not only by its highly visible location, but also by the sheer size of the facility."
The 180,000-square-foot, two-building facility features a full-service body shop, 60 service bays, an on-site diesel tech training center, a 34,000-square-foot parts warehouse as well as expanded amenities for TCC customers. "Customer amenities have greatly improved with the addition of a theater, laundry facilities, drivers' lounge and arcade," Mytty said.
Mytty, who oversees TCC's locations across three states, said his team ultimately went with Darland because they were able to get more of what they wanted within the budget. "Darland brought unique ideas to our project-these ideas allowed us to build at a cost that made sense."
The building's exterior is a combination of precast, EIFS and metal paneling. Interior areas feature polished and stained concrete, precast stairs and a second floor corporate office over the dealership space. State-of-the-art Sageglass with dynamic electrochromic technology was incorporated into the main building's design to increase energy efficiency and eliminate the need for blinds on the large windows. This 'smart glass' technology automatically dims to block unwanted heat and glare, thereby maximizing solar energy.
Despite a considerable amount of spring rain while crews worked to pour over 13 acres of exterior paving, the project finished more than two months ahead of schedule. "Budget and scheduling were top priorities in a project this size," Mytty said. "Darland was both ahead of schedule and under budget."
