Darland is underway on a major hospital addition and renovation for Providence Medical Center (PMC) in Wayne, Nebraska.
"This is our third project in 10 years with PMC, and we're excited to be a part of this Hospital's evolution," said Project Manager Adam Simpson. "By expanding and modernizing the facility, they've been able to continually enhance the level of care for the communities they serve."
A 20,000-square-foot addition will be added on the east side of the hospital's campus to accommodate the fast-growing imaging and specialty outpatient services.
Plans also call for removing a second entry point and creating a prominent, secure main entry. "During the pandemic, we had to control access to the building through two separate entrances, so going forward this will provide more security and safety for us," said PMC CEO Jim Frank.
After completing the new addition, plans call for a 20,000-square-foot remodel to include an all-new surgical suite, including pre and post-op areas; a material management area; and administrative offices.
Construction began in July and is slated for completion in summer 2023.
